10 Stylish Ways To Wear A White Embroidered Blouse This Season
Don’t you just love it when the weather is warm enough to pull out your trusty white embroidered blouse from last season? To me, it’s a sign that summer is here! Whether you’re jobbing at home, brunching with friends, on the beach, zooming into a meeting, out to dinner, off to a festival or capping it off with a graduation (get it? Poor, I know!) this piece is likely to be a mainstay of your summer wardrobe.
Recently I’ve been doing a LOT of research around white embroidered blouses. I’ve got several that I’ve had for years - and not in the sense of “Oh this old thing, it’s years old” - when really it was bought the season before last.
No, I literally mean years and years. We’re talking purchases made in 2012/2013. But with a trip to Switzerland and a trip to Crete coming up - plus possibly some time away with Mr G just the two of us - I thought it was time to up my game.
With a refresh in mind, I thought I’d share with you my favourite finds as well as 10 ways you can wear your white embroidered blouse. Hold tight….
Oh but before we set off, please excuse the rudimentary nature of the images. I’m navigating a new lap top, so rudimentary it is for the foreseeable future. Also, not every style suggestion has an accompanying image but hopefully there’s plenty of inspiration for you. Oh and all images are hyperlinked so just click on one for a closer look.
1. Everyday Cool with Denim or Khakis
This is probably my favourite way to wear an embroidered blouse - with jeans or khakis. For me it’s that perfect mix of feminine and practical, which I love so much. Barrel, boyfriend or 70s style trouser shapes are my faves as they suit my shape the most. But if you prefer skinnies or straight trousers — they all work great. Add chunky sandals, trainers, or slides, toss on a crossbody bag or grab a basket and maybe pop one side of the blouse front into your jeans. Effortless cool, always a winner.
2. Brighter Days with Shorts
My other favourite way to wear an embroidered blouse is with denim or linen shorts. It’s a simple variation on the theme above - feminine and practical but for a warmer day. If you’re feeling in the mood to style it up a little, tuck (or half-tuck) and pair with strappy sandals or espadrilles. Finish with a wide-brim hat and sunnies.
Note: If you happen to be wearing white linen shorts, avoid blue food colouring or tidying up matcha powder at all costs. They do not mix well.
3. Office Vibes: Trousers Style
Wondering how to wear your embroidered blouse in an office setting? Team your blouse with tailored trousers (think navy, grey or black wide leg trouses) - Cos always has a great selection. Tuck, add a slim belt and slip into pointed flats or loafers. A structured tote and simple jewellery will polish it off.
4. Pencil Skirt Sharp
Go feminine by pairing your embroidered blouse with a pencil skirt in a pastel, navy, or classic black. Tuck in your blouse, maybe throw on a blazer and add a stack or block heel, or flats. You’ll feel ready for anything!

5. Midi Skirt for a Modern Twist
A pleated midi can work wonders with an embroidered blouse, particularly if it’s is more fitted. Tuck in the blouse, wear block-heel sandals or ankle boots, and pop on a statement watch. That’s a lovely office outfit outfit right there.

6. Laid‑Back Weekend with Joggers
Sunday vibes? Opt for soft joggers in neutral earthy tones. Layer a denim jacket or soft cardigan, and you’ll be comfy and chic.
7. Boho‑Chic Wide‑Leg Pants
If you love that relaxed, bohemian look, pair your blouse with flowy linen/cotton trousers - even striped ones. Add sandals, a woven tote, and some boho beads. Breezy, elegant and perfect for strolling or brunching or going to a festival.
8. On The Beach
Warm day alert? I love wearing my embroidered blouse over a bikini on the beach. They offer great coverage from the sun yet are still warm enough to let the air circulate.
9. Night Out: Sleek & Chic
Wear fitted (or your favourite) black trousers. Tuck in the blouse, add a statement belt, and slide into comfortable shoes or heels (or stick with trainers if you’re not a “shoe” girl!) Add bold jewellery and a clutch — ready for cocktails with friends.
10. Playful Mode: Dungarees
Ready for fun? Pair your blouse with denim dungarees - either short or long. They’re a lovely combination and both pretty and practical at the same time. Add glitz with metallic sandals or wedges or keep your feet on the ground in trainers. Some of my favourite dungarees are the scalloped ones from Wyse (show me a scalloped edge and I’m there!) but sadly they’re OOS at the moment.
Accessory Game: Keep It Fun and Personal
Everyday: stud earrings, a simple pendant and layer-thin bracelets. Add a fedora or straw sunhat.
Office: structured tote, coloured belt, bold earrings. Polished is the vibe.
Evening: chandelier earrings, metallic belt and a sparkle clutch.
Keep Your Embroidered Blouse Looking Fab
Always check the care tag, but to be safe: hand-wash in cool water with gentle detergent. Lay flat to dry. Sometimes the dye from the embroidery can run into the white fabric of the blouse, so just keep an eye on that.
Store folded, away from direct sunlight (keeps embroidery pristine).
Steady warm iron with a cloth over the fabric to avoid flattening the stitching.
Be gentle — embroidery can snag, particularly on bags, so rough bags, sharp jewellery, or “snaggy” (not saggy!) surfaces.
Final Thoughts: Make It Yours
That white embroidered blouse? It’s a true wardrobe hero in the summer. What other item has sleeves, room in the body so you can breathe, has a v-neck, is pretty and can be styled in so many different ways? Dress it up, dress it down, mix and match seasonally, and make it yours. Trust your style instincts, have fun and wear it with confidence. Oooh and do share your pics. I’d love to see them!
